John was a pleasure to deal with and the bike I was given was in excellent condition, fully… read more charged it took me effortlessly around the coastline for the day, we were blessed with the weather but cycling an electric bike around was a joy and a brilliant way to enjoy this incredible journey. Can I recommend stopping at the Blasket Visitor Centre, this newly refurbished centre is stunning, a really interesting place to spend some time learning about the Island

Unbelievable experience. I’ve done it two years in a row now and the different people that have done it with me are as amazed as me. You’d be mad to… read more go to Dingle and not do this. The best activity I’ve done in this country by a mile. John is a legend too and very accommodating and helpful. I’ll be back again very soon.

We cycled around Slea Head to Ventry and decided to double back to Ballyferriter, via a pit stop in the Stonehouse Restaurant and also in Kruger’s pub.Two very different tours, with stunning views each way.
John collected the bikes from the hotel.
A glorious day helped, but, whatever the weather, don’t miss this.

John had some good tips for cycling the Slea Head Loop
He provided a bicycle in good working order and a pannier
It was a beautiful day for a ride,… read more if a bit sunny for my taste
The e-bike made the ride enjoyable
I went down to the pier at Brandon Creek because I was confident I could get back up the access road
I am 74 years old, in medium good shape, overweight, and I completed the loop in 8 hours including time for rest and sightseeing breaks
John drives a van and provided his personal mobile number for emergencies
Roads are often narrow but automobile and coach drivers are mindful of bicycle drivers

Our group of 4 rented electric bikes to bike the Slea Head Drive. We had reservations at 10 am and John showed up very punctually at 10 am! … read more He gave us a map and pointed out several highlights we should consider during our ride, which was very helpful. He also gave us his phone number should we ever have any issues along the way and to let him know when we returned the bikes. The e-bikes were WONDERFUL! Our whole group absolutely loved them. No more worrying about struggling to get up hills or ride against the wind…just pump up the electric assist and whoosh…piece of cake! The scenery and beauty of the Dingle peninsula were amazing and easier to enjoy when you’re on an e-bike. The whole ride took us about 5 hours for ~30 miles (~45 kms).
I told John before we left that this could be an expensive experience because my wife will probably want an electric bike after this…and sure enough, she does!

We really appreciated Norman accommodating a very last minute change to our reservation. We like to cycle and frequently do tours when we travel, but had never before used… read more e-bikes. We were on the fence about them. They were amazing though. We wouldn’t have been able to complete the whole Slea Head Drive loop without the boost on some of the hills. We cycled for 55km, partially due to a wrong turn. The scenery varies but is magnificent throughout. There are plenty of cafes to stop and rest.

This was the most fun thing we did in Ireland. This is definitely the way to see the Dingle peninsula — we were so glad we didn’t just drive it.… read more We took about 6 hours total to circle the peninsula, veering off the trail for all sorts of interesting sites and excursions. Almost everything to see / stop at is in the first “half” of the trip. It took us around 4.5 hours to get to Krugers and less than 1.5 hours to get back to Dingle after that.
The bikes had plenty of juice for the trip. We were worried that we were down to 3 bars of 6 at Krugers (with the mountain pass ahead of us), but we used less than a bar going back to Dingle from there.
I got a flat tire about 1/3rd of the way in. A quick call to John and he was on his way. I checked google maps and we were an 18 minute drive from Dingle at the time and John showed up in 19 minutes. On this trip, even a flat tire is not an inconvenience — it gave us an opportunity to relax and enjoy the view for a bit.
I can’t say enough good things about Dingle Electric Bikes!
